Many visitors to Florida plan their trip in terms of Mickey Mouse, Sea World, Universal and the many other fantastic attractions that Florida has to offer. Although all of these can provide endless fun for kids and parents alike, there is more to Florida than just cartoon characters and gut-wrenching roller coasters.

There are allegedly around 400 golf course in central Florida and certainly several dozens of these are in easy reach of the “Disney” map area. This means that with a little careful planning, Dads and Mums can fit a couple of rounds of golf into their trip and still “do” all the theme parks to keep the kids happy. Of course the enthusiast amongst us may reverse that strategy and concentrate their trip around their favourite sport with the odd theme park visit thrown in, just for good measure. Florida is all about choices.

No matter what your preference, there is a golf course here (or perhaps several) just for you. Two days out of a two week holiday or a five day, long golfing weekend – whatever you are looking for, you’ll find it here.

What choices are open to you?

The possibilities are endless, from the small and inexpensive Par 3 Polo Park course (there are two – 9 holes apiece) on the US27 to the Tom Watson, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer courses at the unbelievable Ginn Reunion resort, you will always find a course suited to both your ability and budget.

Finding accommodation with easy access to one or more of the many beautiful courses here could not be easier. Many communities are built around the courses and in most cases, the villas and apartments actually sitting on the course itself are available for rent, whether it’s for a weekend away or a three month break from the harsh winters those outside Florida dread. Florida is a magnet for the “Snowbirds”, hordes of holiday makers from the Northern states, Canada and Europe who try to spend as much time as possible here during the winter months.

Of course the wonderful Florida climate means that the courses here are open 365 days a year – Yes, even on Christmas Day, but try to play your golf before you fill up on the Turkey and stuffing.

Yes, of course we would be delighted to help you to buy a base to use as your vacation home and base for your golfing holiday. This does not necessarily mean you have to buy a home on a golf course. If you are on a limited budget, we can always suggest locations that have easy access to golf courses although not actually on a course itself. You will understand that a property sitting on the edge of a golf course will be more expensive than an identical house located in a purely residential development a mile away.
