So where do we start?

Dave was born in London in 1952 but moved to the North East of England when a very young child, growing up England’s largest town, Middlesbrough.

Jody was born in Great Bend, near Dodge City, Kansas in 1961, moving back to the UK with her British parents some 7 years later to settle in the seaside town of Redcar, just 10 miles away from where Dave was living.

They met and married in 1980 and are currently in their 28th year of marital bliss (sometimes, in the words of one Paul McCartney, more like marital blitz), which is not a bad record these days.

In 1991, the Bakers moved to Hambleton, just East of Leeds, Yorkshire and then in 1992, they moved on again, spending the last ten years in the UK in Lytham St Annes, in the North West of England. The whole family moved to Florida in 2002 and Jody and Dave now live in the picturesque town of Celebration.

Dave and Jody have two children, John, an actor, who is 24 and Pippa, 19, who  graduated from High School in Celebration. John is an Actor and Photographer in Orlando, Florida and Pippa is now attending Drama School in New York City.

Before moving to Florida and into real estate, Dave worked for 30 years in the UK financial services industry, including seven years dealing with the training needs of the largest estate agency chain in the UK. He has been a qualified Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) in the UK since the late 80s.

Jody briefly worked in the financial services industry also, before having children and becoming a home-maker. She is also a qualified UK child-minder.

Both are now qualified, licensed Realtors and have been dealing with (mainly) UK-based buyers, since the beginning of 2003, when Dave first became licensed in Florida and 2004 when Jody did the same.

Dave and Jody do not have a fancy, high profile 'mission statement'. They just believe in offering good old fashioned customer service, going the extra mile and telling it as it is - no gimmicks, 'free' flights or false promises. Unlike the UK, where Estate Agents do not need to be licensed, Jody and Dave are required by law to be licensed to sell real estate in the state of Florida.
